Board of Directors

Chanco on the James is a 501 C3 organization that is managed by volunteer board of directors.  As a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia, the board includes clergy and lay individuals that represent all convocations in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia.

To be a board member, you must fill out a board nomination form and submit it to president of the board.  Upon endorsement of the nominating committee, a prospective director will be approved by the board as a whole and then  submitted to the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia.  At Annual Council the bishop will confirm new members to Chanco’s Board of Directors.  Each board member serves a three-year term that is renewable for one term.

The board meets in February, April, June, August, October and December.
