Campers live in rustic cabins in the woods. Resident campers live in campsites with up to six campers per cabin. Two counselors per group live with the campers in their campsite. Many of our counselors were previous campers themselves. Some even travel from abroad to spend the summer at Camp Chanco.
Session 1 is a one week session geared towards 8 – 11 year old campers who are away from home often for the first time. Counselors live with the campers in their camp sites and provide guidance and friendship while teaching them exciting new activities.
Residential Sessions 2, 3 and 4 are two week sessions open to a range of ages for parents who want to send several children to camp at the same time or need flexibility in their busy summer schedules. Our 8 – 16 year olds are separated by age groups and gender and have their own camp site and daily schedule designed with their particular age group in mind. These sessions provide an excellent opportunity for campers to make friends, gain independence, and challenge themselves with new adventures in a safe, supportive environment.
Camp Chanco provides a safe place for youth of all ages…it’s the place where kids have fun!
