Giving
We appreciate all of the support we have received from The Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia, the parishes that use our facilities, donors who generously give their dollars and sweat equity, parents who provide scholarships or who send their children and grandchildren to Camp Chanco and all of the volunteers who give us their time and talents to make Chanco successful.
In 2008, Chanco realized a positive bottom line for the first time due to all of these factors. We have strengthened the management and stepped up our marketing and with all of those factors, and your generous help, we will continue to be successful for years to come. In 2008 we increased camper numbers by more than 18 percent, achieved a high American Camping Association (ACA) score and employed a full time registered nurse and chaplain for summer camp.
We also doubled our contributions to the Friends of Chanco Annual fund. Let’s keep the momentum going! Chanco’s staff and board of directors want to continue to provide the best possible service and facility for the youth and adults who benefit from this beautiful and magical place.
How can you become involved?Chanco’s top giving priority in 2009 is the Annual Fund. This year, our goal is to raise $60,000. With your support, YOU can make the difference for Chanco on the James, our diocese, and our future.
