Chanco’s mission is to provide a relaxed, comfortable environment to promote spiritual, personal and professional growth.  Chanco strives to be a place to rest, rejuvenate and reconnect with God and nature.

To continue to meet our mission, our goals for growth in 2010 and beyond include:

• Expand the dining hall to meet the increased numbers of campers and guests.
• Construct a chapel for worship and to provide a large meeting space.
• Build winterized youth lodges for year-round youth events.
• Expand and improve the ropes course – Completed 2009
• Rebuild conference rooms
  
• Build walking or “prayer” trails and more!!

How can you help us?
Cash gifts – All forms of financial support are vital to the well-being of Chanco on the James and we welcome contributions in any and every form. Endowed gifts and planned gifts ensure our future health by providing a permanent source of support, while gifts to the Annual Fund provide an immediate impact for the youth and adults at Chanco.

Chanco has several levels of giving:

• Bald Eagle Society Members (gifts of $10,000 +)
• Feather and Shield Society Members (gifts of $5,000-$9,999)
• James River Society Members (gifts of $1,000+)
• Powhatan Society Members (gifts of $500 – $999)
• Surry Society Members (gifts of $100 – $499)
• Friends of Chanco Members ($25 – $99)
• Gifts in kind (contact Chanco for our wish list)

Chanco on the James is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia.  The PayPal button below will redirect you to the “Diocese of Southern VA” account but all donations will go to Chanco on the James.
