Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown invites the men of the Diocese of Southern Virginia to participate in a three-day retreat being held at Chanco to reconnect with the beauty and wonder of God’s creation. We begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 25th and end by 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 27th. There will be time to experience biblical teachings on creation and our environment, music, opportunity to engage in discussion about the critical issues facing us, time to meditate in the woods alone and the opportunity to participate in a Eucharist closing born of the weekend with meaningful takeaways.
This retreat will provide a forum for discussion about our responsibilities to protect and nurture our environment. We will eat together, sing, drum (no experience necessary!), discuss and share about crucial issues affecting the stewardship of creation and have time alone in the beauty and wonder of God’s creation at Chanco to reflect on our role and responsibilities. Care for the earth is not just an Earth Day slogan, it is at the center of our faith. We are called to protect people and the planet, living our faith in relationship with all of God’s creation. Please join us for this powerful weekend event where you are sure to make connections with other men around the diocese, learn more about yourself, God and nature. We look forward to seeing you there! Click here for a flier with more information.
