Paddle boarding and high ropes elements thanks to Change for Chanco

DSC_0251Thanks to donations to the Change for Chanco program and to our Camper Family Capital Fee, Chanco is able to make drastic improvements to our property and programs while keeping our rates low compared to other camps.  Some of the projects Change for Chanco has made possible over the years are a 32-foot high rock climbing, disc golf, a new regulation-sized Ga-Ga pit, tether ball, an enlarged basketball court, and new archery equipment.  The incredible record-breaking generosity of 2015 Change for Chanco donations are making 18 paddle boards (enough for an entire campsite to paddle board at once) a reality!  Thank you!  2015 Change for Chanco matched by an anonymous donor brought in almost $12,000, which was an all-time youth fundraising record!

Change for Chanco donations by campers are matched by an anonymous matching donor so your dollar has double the impact!  Family Capital Fees have helped with low ropes course element renovations, the repair of zip lines, the addition this year of two high elements (the “Leap of Faith” formerly called “Pamper Pole” and the two-line bridge) and the interior renovation of our bathhouses including new epoxy flooring and marine grade interior paint. Thank you, campers, for proving that no one is too young to make a difference to Chanco and thank you camper families for your support of the Family Capital Fund.  Truly, you make the difference!DSC_0109

This year, the Chanco Board of Directors has voted to make a NEW high ropes element the fundraising project for 2016 campers.  Camper families will receive a letter in your camp registration packet with more information and including your own Change for Chanco box!  Save that change, say a prayer for Chanco and make a new ropes element that will take campers to new heights a reality!  And don’t forget, the campsite each session that raises the most money will earn a special ice cream party!
